Best of luck to the club. They do a terrific job down there and the track is allways A1.

OXFORD CIRCUS After initially being cantankerous in the mounting enclosure, continued to behave unruly refusing to proceed to the barrier before rearing and dislodging the rider and galloping riderless until being recaptured by the Clerk of the course. Stewards ordered the colt be officially withdrawn. All bets made on the colt were refunded.. This incident delayed the start several minutes. Trainer was advised that the colt would have to trial to the Stewards satisfaction prior to racing again.

Should this accident to Forrest occured?

the report keeps calling this horse a COLT yet the AUST STUD BOOK & RISA (RSB) show it as a GELDING -

So "... the gelding was withdrawn/ bets on the gelding were refunded and the gelding has to trial"

I wonder when they officially stopped referring to a horse by its name - w(h)ether (pardon the pun) gelding or colt.

Can a horse be thrown out of a race on the 15/12/2012, be ordered to re-trial - on 26/12/2012 and run in a race on 5/1/2013.....and in between that get gelded and recover enough to run???

Serious question, i thought it'd struggle to fit the procedure and the runs in, in that time frame??? Or was the race book wrong???

Rac, I've seen geldings called mares in stewards reports and vice versa.

thought this was cute from Narrogin on 22nd dec Race 4 :

SPROUTABLE LASS - The Official Starter suggested that due to the mare being large in CONFIRMATION that a barrier extension.....

Well would someone confirm her large conformation for us as we're largely confused.

Not a laughing matter very similar incident happened at Landor 2004 with tragic results.

i'm hearing you on that one ..is there not some sort of ruling on how long a recovery period is required ????

sorry if my comment came across as a little, funny dig..it was a serious statement.

if he had been gelded in that time, as well as run a trial, i doubt if he would have been in a nice frame of mind...and that is knowing that he already had a bad habit or two!!!!!
