my dad had a barometer which he tapped every morning and it was spot on...even predicted the meckering earthquake by "saying" turbulent weather ahead....100 degree temps plus storms...spot on. and this was in an October I think.
I've got the barometer but never tap it....cos its in a wardrobe..must get it out...
Not much in that system on Saturday few mils at best the show will go on
If it's Irish Day, the Club should stock up on the grog, open up the gates free, and let them go for it, punting on the ES and pi**ing it up

beat me too it..the Cup day at barker will be hard to move to a midweek.. And if there is that much rain on Saturday, it will flow into Sunday as these lows rarely move through in a big hurry.
I reckon they will be hoping for a late Saturday storm and to get through the majority of the card with heavy track conditions.. maybe bring the card forward to a 10.30am start time...And hope to get it finished before the storm takes over..
As with all these things the decision should be made by 9am tomorrow morning. By then they should have the speed and direction of the storm well and truly worked out, so the accuracy should be pretty good. And 2-3hrs before being on course for he first race should be fair for most of the first race runners and all of the rest of the cards runners.
I just hope at9am, they don't say we'll update you at 10.....
