Eight races..full sized fields...handicaps from the stand spread from the front through to 30 metres. Even fields - not a single odds on favourite in sight. Both Suvaljkos driving. Doesn't get much better.

Yes, Riders, its a great little meeting Busso and I am a bit dirty I can't get over to it, pretty laid up and housebound at moment driving everyone nuts. But nonetheless, a few small investments...Budd Sidewinder should win the first, Compact Rocket a good chance in Race 2, Race 3 many chances...Bledisloe on the improve (I have backed it it's last two runs) and does get around the track and Scot Bay also will be suited....CC Chevron the best horse but probably very short. And Major Short in Race 5. Haven't checked the prices ....be putting the Christmas Pudding cash at risk but always surprises at a good grass roots country meet where you can almost pat them as they whiz by.

    Telham Lane
    Bledisloe
    Dagati Inage
Major Spoilt / Touch of Success
    Abetta Tiny Dancer

Only got a couple ( more interested in Wagin tommorow night )

Race 3 - Maximum Demand - it is ready to win - and can handle the stand - could ping the tapes  - when the others go backwards . Have a saver on Idolize  Me- because if it steps ( debateable ) i think its good enough to breeze and win

Race 1 - a silly place chance at huge odds to Im The Pied Piper - its got the imposing record of 107 starts for 1 solitary win - however its couple of starts from a spell have been good in much better grade - its got Suvalako and i can see it hugging the pegs - and this is a very quiet field

Stoppedgoing to Busselton trots some years back when they banned on course bookies working there. Millsy tried to go there last year and give them some publicity but the woman who runs the show said no we wont have bookies even though many corporates work on their TAB meetings. Just another example of NFI. No point going there to just bet on the billy goat. Can do that at home.

Just noticed one of the corps betting 130% straight out and 411% the place. Struggle to beat that. Thats on race 2 at  Busso

    Why don't they want bookies??

Famous Carribean very short in Race 3??

As i said the woman running the show said i dont want bookies on course. I had a 20 miinute conversation with her this time last year and got nowhere with her Adamant while she was there there would be no bookies. Guessing she has never had a bet in her life or maybe only a 50 cent quinella on the Melbourne Cup. Thats a maybe.

CC Chevron beat a couple of handy horses at Pinjarra when superbly driven...was nearly $8 tonight in a weaker field. Well placed by the trainer...and driven again by one of the best reinsmen in Australia.

Misguided conception that any money turned over by the Bookies would go through the on course tote at a better return to the club.

Pinjarra did the same and their turnover is now a fraction what the on course tote and bookies turned over.

CC Chevron beat Gaz Wannabet on its merits at Pinjarra...would say Gaz Wannabet would have started favourite tonight.

Well fortunately CC wasn't short at all...what a price, unbelievable ....a rare drifter that I didn't jump off...cant believe the $7.70 and even money the place considering its previous form....it beat Gaz Wannabet,Assasinator and co off 20m at Pinjarra  Beginning to love the Busso Trots. And if compact rocket had stepped? Budd made a mess of them.

Wish was bookmaking at Busso....would have had CC at 3/1 maximum and not laid a bet! Scot Bay won at Pinjarra six starts ago at 50/1 and been a beaten favourite two or three times since. The other favourite back from a spell had good form but talking Collie/Bridgetown. CC Chevron has been as consistent as clockwork in handy fields at Pinjarra and driven by a champ.

JJs quote - 'CC Chevron the best horse but probably very short'. He might have claimed that 3/1 then straight into even money!

Bookies have evolved into jelly backed bottom feeding scum sucking parasitical observers of the nearest pari-mutuel screen in their bid to eke out a feed from the gullible...at the trots and gallops. Its nearly 2017....the thousands of mugs that approached the bookie stands in the halcyon days of equine sports now luxuriate at home....so the poor old satchel swingers can't balance their books with uneducated money ie recidivist losers but... still yelp like stuck pigs at the rorts they imagine go on to pull the carpet out from under their naturally superior judgement . All except Millsy who is a sad sad case ..a good bloke tilting at childhood windmills....and an old mate of mine haha

Now just got to get Major Spoilt to step and hope that Touch of success doesnt. I see Budd rated 2.9.7  and won by 20 plus metres....some real strugglers behind him, haven't seen a mile rat that slow for decades.

Stephen Reed driving tonight...hes a very very good reinsman. Could have been one of the best.

First leg of quaddie looks to be between the three off the front line...Major Spoilt , Touch Of Success and I'm Lisart...but reticent to leave out Callan and Shannon Suvaljko at double figure odds.
  • buffybuffy    277 posts
The stupid part about the thinking of the people that run the trots at Pinjarra Busselton and Bunbury that think that oncourse patrons will only bet on the tote dont seem to understand that anybody betting more than $10 win or place will have an account with a corporate and bet away from the course. Anybody seriously betting on an on course tote is not very smart.

Two long priced placegetters previous two races driven by Callan and Shannon Suvaljko. Just bread and butter clever drivers.

I am spoilt...playing with their money, he steps, he leads, the fav gallops, he bolts in, I collect....not a fortune but ordering sticky ice buns for morning tea to maintain the tradition of years gone by. My newest favourite track Busso haha.

That start was just what the doctor ordered JJ! Major Spoilt took full advantage and Callan Suvaljko straight on his back. Quinella was then and there.

Georgie James, Jack Jones and Woody would be putting the acid on me for a double order of Beckenham Bakery "Paris Buns" lol. Pretty good quinella at 32 bucks,1600 trifecta.

Going to back two bolters for a place in the next Augusta Moonlight and Classic Air...both off the front line hoping one of them might step and get leaders back...a nice place to be at Busso.

Looks a good race for Its My Lucknow too , off 10 metres but if steps she's a tough cookie and suited in this company. Shannon Suvaljko drive looks a big hope as well also off 10 metres.

That's ok if you ignore the fact that the smarties betting on corporates whilst on course are actually cannibalising the industry. Corporates are parasites who  bye and large return SFA to the codes.

Augusta Moonlight gave a sight! First horse since 1927 to miss a place leading into the straight at Busselton. Callan Suvaljko - has his critics - :-?? He's outstanding.
