Pretty proud of my Dad having both Jack Mac and Sunnys Little Whiz nominated - especially considering Sunny's a trotter with access to only 1 x Group 1 in WA and she's up against the pacers. Sucks there's no Trotter of the Year - she's won 11/13, got 4 x track records, won a group 1, a few listed races and almost $100,000 for the season and is ranked 8th for trotters in Oz.

The stable do a magnificent job KTQ. I have do ask does anyone ever ask him for an interview? I've never heard from him once or to be honest I cant even remember anything being written about the stable. I'd like to think someone doing so well would be in the public eye a bit more.

:) He does pretty well for himself - he only trains his own, which I guess is pretty good considering his success. He's pretty humble and old school so hates interviews - shies from the attention and I think he thinks it brings bad luck but from time to time he'll answer a few questions for the harness site or the paper. Since we've had success with Sunny and Jack, there are a few articles written (like the one JayJay posted) but you'd never get him to talk to Gareth Hall or the radio - I think he'd die if he got cornered.  (PS not sure what Ken's on about but Matavutu's foals have won 15 times in total and well over $100k .. guess he didn't check the Oz site)

In terms of winners, I'd say Cott Beach, Jack Mac (yay), Maczaffair, Chicago Bull, Handsandwheels and either The Parade or Sunny - it's tough because unless Sunny goes over east, there's only one group 1 she can race in, so that defaults to The Parade, with the wider options for big races.

Agree... Cott, Jac, Macz, Hands and the Bull pick themselves...with the mares, a bit more open. Maybe Major Reality a contender, also LBMidfrew but Tricky was my best result betting wise, especially after the Sydney trip,  and I just love the big mare, very biased view haha. However all those mares inc Sunny, The Parade  and Sheer RocknRoll are just absolute gems...always had a soft spot for good mares!!

Tricky styx hasn't win any big races this season though

Yep, fair call KTQ....just 2 FFA's and Winter Cup. The wins have been spread around...the Parade won mares classic, Major won 2 decent mares races....and LBM a Media Cup, Mt Eden sprint, heat of the Inters.....on results probably LBM acknoledging Sunny gets no real chance to win "big races" as such. Thats why I reckon it is pretty open. All would be worthy, probably leaning to LBM.

I agree JayJay probably the hardest category but LBM gets my nod due to the quality of the races she won.

Cheers FM...as predicted, the only one up for grabs was the Mares and no argument with The Parade even though only 8 starts for the season for just the 2 wins in the Mares Classic and The Empress Stakes and a 2nd in the Norm's Daughter. Very open category, LBM a bit unlucky.
