I barred myself for 72 hours after watching Swimbetweentheflags win at Pinjarra on Monday at about 20/1...its previous run when flying off the mark and running fourth at 50/1 was a teriffic effort ...somehow missed seeing him in the field on Monday....also not realising at the time Chris Lewis was driving. I was 'rapt'.

Follow that horse with confidence it's grown a leg.

Wasnt it lovely to read a bit of local harness racing news in todays West Australian - 4-5 little different stories - thats how it should be every week . And how bold was the headline - Aiden De Campo would be in shock when he saw it

Got zero interest in the gallops - but i do tend to read the local scene news - eg Today - Kersley has got 2 starters in something . However with the Eastern States ( when its not their feature races ) - just their bread an butter stuff - there is far too much coverage of that  on a day to day basis - there should be none

Interesting to see how Walkingshaw goes tonight...is he the real deal ? Bigger things ahead for this guy.
Looked mighty impressive previous start, early market $1.85 ( Bet365 ) think will run shorter.

Barrier 8 is awkward but main danger Tisadream in the 12 and other hope Back To Beach in the one - but he needs every mortal possible hope. Walkingshaw in a match race would beat him by 50 metres but the draw does even it up a little.

    Walkingshaw $1.85 into $1.70 on Bet365.
Tabtouch opening price $1.50. Crikey is their ever a horse at a longer price on Tabtouch ?!! Harder to find than the holy grail!

Two from trials at Pinjarra at any old odds...R5 Rosies Ideal ...bad draw at 7 but will finish off late if they go mad & R10 ....Ooshtaa .....better than form suggests and trialed well last sunday
A little e/w dabble in hit and hope style .

Don't mind Ooshta, saw him win at Pinjarra a while back, goes okay. Wouldn't want to be digging myself out of a hole by the last race and he ain't the worst. Rosies bolted in at Northam when she got the lead pretty easily, strong race, bad draw ....what do they say "Prefer to watch in this" but no knock on her.

On their last runs how can Cott Beach defeat the other two that been her home the other night ? Going to do a Chariots here...Cott Beach $6 - should be $12. Can't possibly win.

Now watch her lead all the way!

Cott Beach driven back in the field...consistently ran into brick walls...turned sideways to get a run, finished off well...with a clear run would have joined in with the winner!

Shardons Rocket in the next on some corporates is $301 and $29 a place...perhaps time for a good paddock for the thirteen year old. He's now been battling for quite awhile.

Terrific divvy for Bettors Fire for a horse in such sparkling form....and deservedly on the winter Cup Honour Roll. 50 years ago, it was the comeback horse, the champ Mercedes for Fred Kersley Snr, 40 years ago it was Prince Fandango for Phil Coulson/Ray Sweetman, 30 years ago it was Mystery Cargo for Gary Lilleyman/Lindsay Froyland, 20 years ago it was Shattering Class for Lindsay Harper/George Ashcroft and 10 years ago it was Washakie for the Halls Jnr and Snr. In between times, Quinny twice, Has The Answers twice, Looks Like Lightning twice, Shattering Class twice and Mystery Cargo twice.....some horses go real well in winter. First one that I can really remember was the great mare Color Glo. Heard a great story about Color Glo last week, will put it up on the "There Are A million Stories Out There" thread.

Every now and then one arrives to keep us interested Riders. No fluke about the win ...Rosies was nearly forced into the Swan in the last 700m by plenty of washing flapping in the breeze in front of her. Shane Young does a good job with his team and has a history of landing these 100K Westbred / WA Sires type races over the years with improving but underrated horses.
Dunno whether I should call it a night or tempt fate later on  ( in a small way )
The Pinjarra and Byford trial replays available on the RWWA harness hub are a real bonus for the punter now I think.....something in their favour at the very least.

Big run Suzie Rocks in that event. She's one to follow.
Catastrophic Event lived up to her name punting wise.

Good to see a horse and driver combo win tonight who are facing a tco2 inquiry. Great look for the industry. If found guilty should be banned for a long time. Has plenty of form.
