Port Hedland race club upsetting plenty, No cash entry, sales pre post on the net, then sold out. My elderly Uncle & his friends have no idea how to do that, other than rock up at the gate like the last 30 years with cash in hand, they are right royal **** off.

His last comment on the Port Hedland Race Club, was they can jam it up there..... (I'll let you finish the sentence)

Hedland are currently going through a redevelopment. They’re limited on facilities and space (so crowds are capped, due to the area/liquor licensing).

This season they are doing online ticketing. If you turn up at the gate, you can pay on card if there are tickets available.

So, before you mouth off perhaps do some digging and find out why the club have done this.

No club wants to turn away spectators… especially after not racing in 3 years. They’re doing the best with what they have.

Absolutely shits me when people carry on like you have. Clubs work so damn hard to put on a show, and people like you just criticise and nit pick. If you’re going to be that miserable, stay home.

Obviously a local and maybe even on the committee by the sounds of it Bluespec. But well done shining light on the reason why . Hopefully all the best for the club going forward

Had an outstanding time at the Port Hedland cup a few years ago..highly recommend it as a must do trip.
Had a beer with champion bloke Wes Cameron at the Ibis hotel near the track and then took the short walk to the course..stayed at the Discovery Parks joint about 2k away teriffic accommodation, beats a motel room easily and is usually a good deal cheaper.

Doesn't address the crowd restrictions(which are unfortunate but unavoidable i imagine)so i'm just reminiscing lol but i am sure they will be back to the norm next year.

Early tip Austin Galati to ride the cup winner up there.

Isn't it great that racing infrastructure is being upgraded. Racing is the real winner in this.

Gotta take the good with the bad, the bad being reduced attendance for a little while.

Got your knickers in a knot much ?  I was passing on a message to me after they asked me to help them as they are not computer saavy. I looke at PHTC facebook page where other people were asking similar questions, but did not see much helpful response (maybe it came after looked, maybe not). I said could not help them, as not only 1,000 of km's away I  also don 't have all their private bank details to help) . The response was there's not mine.

By the way, only ever been to Port Hedland once & in no rush to ever go back, would rate highly at this page

So what your saying Bluespec is this is a once off. and things will revert back to what they were previously.
    :-??
    I call bullshittttt.
I have never heard of anyone reverting back to cash once things go online. Just does not happen. It makes it easier for catering and security purposes. And yes, I am a volunteer of numerous clubs in my community so i know how much hard work goes in to make the show go on.
I hope you come back on here in 12 months and tell me I'm wrong, And the old folk can continue on with how life used to be and pay with cash at the gate. But I bet you don't.

    I do like the
intimacy of the Narrogin track and can always go for a swim next door before or after the meeting  ;)) Drive home can be a trap with the blinding sun setting. Unlike you Goosie Gander it is far from my home track

I have never thought of shooting off for a swim, other than a "swim through" at the bar  ;;)
