Race 1 abandoned. Trouble with transport i assume?

Be interested to know if it is Commercial flight or Charter ?

Imagine having a horse in race 1 & travelled from Perth or Esperance

reading Twitter, sounds like it's is visibility problem, so the Commercial/Charter question is moot.  Not ideal, but what can you do

As LG said imagine travelling alI that way only for the race to be abandoned.
I went on a holiday to Lord Howe Island once. Well, almost. Flew to the island and circled the airport for a while but it was too windy to land. Had to fly to Coffs Harbour or would have run out of fuel. Then flew back to Sydney. Airfare refunded, no holiday  :((

Was no fog in Kalgoorlie. I live 600m from the airport and visibility was not a problem. Could see the top of the superpit tailings easily

Pathetic really surely look at the weather forecast and see there's fog around again, so maybe just maybe the staff and jockeys could drive up. Its really a sad state of affairs.

    Why is it a joke?

Pilots made a decision it wasnt safe to land because of low cloud.

so a plane load of peoples safety is not as important as you getting your rocks off having abet, seriously delusional.

every effort by the looks was made to get the meeting up.

     Yes, I was saying people's safety isn't important  =))
Is your argument really so flimsy you have to resort to that? Failing to get the meeting up 2 days in a row smacks of rank amateurism. Can anyone recall this happening before?

    self absorbed as usual

Every effort was obviously made to get the meeting up. what about the organisation required from a club in a small city 6 hours from Perth to get the required services again in less than 24 hours.

How the fck can it be amateurism when professional pilots made the decision not to land.

Any normal, rational person would say bad luck, every effort was made to get the meeting up but nature got the better.

So where is the amateurism? As usual your self absorbed arrogance will come up with obfuscation and deflection.

Back on topic, what happens now that it's abandoned and not postponed? Assume there are plenty of horses that needed the run leading up to the carnival

    Going to be difficult

KBRC's next meeting scheduled is Sunday week.

Next Saturday is Broome Cup and Sunday is a Carnarvon meeting (maybe run on that day as well but that poses a problem with jocks)

When it has been decided that the meeting was on Monday, wouldnt they take the safe option and fly or drive up Sunday afternoon?
