Who do people are going to be the major players this year ???

Pike off to Honkers we will have a new face I suspect

Harvey ?? but seems not to take a lot of rides during the course of a year nowadays

O'Donnell ??

Turner ??

Brown ??

Whiting ??

Kennedy ?? looks like getting the bulk of the Durrant rides so he could be a sneaky.

Anyone else ??

Paul may not get/take a lot of rides, but it is what he does with them that makes the differance.

Harvey looks like he struggles to ride under 54.5 these days so he wont be winning i would think A Kennedy is a monty as well as Donga could be a smokey

your brilliant PB what you mean is that he will be back early from HK because he wont cut it so then your probably right me old mate because he will make the all look silly again like he has for the last 4 years and you as well -lol lol
  • i think he will be back after 3 months, dungy u r meant to say something funny when u lol lol.
  • dungydungy    9,278 posts
Thats why if WPike only rides here for a half season he will win the title just have a look at the ride on the winner in the first today PISTON -lol lol
  • dungy i mean this in the nicest way..ur an idiot

how if he comes home after 3 months is he away for 1/2 the season?

a kennedy is as much chance of winning the premiership as i have of winning lotto on tues

from what ive heard the leading trainers werent impressed at all with willies style (which is very old fashioned)
u cant be successful being a club jockey in hk, u need leading trainers to support u

willie is a great rider (in perth) but is simply out of his league in hk

I'd like to see Donga win it too - has finally been getting some good rides and doing very well.

    Kennedy the danger.

Ben Kennedy to win the apprentices title!

Turner, Brown, Whiting will always be thereabouts, but can't see any of them winning the main title.

    Go King Donga!

Donga for me. Most consistent rider this year and getting good rides. Should continue to keep those rides too with Willy overseas and Harvey not as favoured these days.
Knucks should be back riding soon and cant be discounted.

Harves has got off to a good start to the new season, his strike rate would still have to be ok.

If Pike misses the majority of the season Harvey will win.
With Pike not here he won't be competing with him for the best rides. He will once again be first choice rider for a lot of stables.

Love him or hate him, he is still a long way in front of the next best in this state.

Im with you Funkster if the Pont comes to play he will win the only other danger to him and another flag is IMO A Kennedy that boy is riding fantastic at moment and his boss has a couple of handy ones and also AK getting the bulk of the Peters horses now after WIZ has gone but saying that if WP stayed he would win by the length of the Belmont straight so with him out Dale will be getting Pont on whatever he wants back to 1.50 shots but thats not Harveys fault .

Only 2 meetings in but Kennedy and Harvey on top already - 3 wins

What about the Parnham brothers ?
the old man will win the trainers, why couldn't one of the boys win the jock's.

I just noticed that Alan Kennedy has now ridden 81 metro winners - that means he can no longer claim now !?!?

    that will now be interesting

Harvey looked on song yesterday, rode like a man possessed even though he didn't get the results.

bit of both Hashy me old mate but PH should win with Jarrod and William out of the picture he will get all rides from Dale .
  • at worse I think Willie will be away 6 months, but he will come back so much better. He will change his style make no doubt, Kennedy will be ok, but not having a claim even with the backing of Durrant is going to slow him down. We would all love to see Donga win but that aint gunna happen.
    Ponty is back

Alan Kennedy takes an early lead after a Saturday double

    Kennedy 6
    Harvey 5
    Brown 5
    Pike 4

Pike flys out to Honkers after Saturday

In the trainers premiership Jimmy Taylor has burnt to an early lead with 5 winners.

    Taylor 5
    Durrant 4
    Burnett 3
    Maynard 3

Parnham is making the race a handicap this year - hasnt posted a winner just yet whilst his dangers are leading the way.
  • TheDivaTheDiva    13,248 posts
A triple to Paul Harvey and Willie Pike hasnt left yet. The gap is going to be very wide by the time he finishes in Hong Kong.

Might be going back to a few years back where everything harvey rode dropped its price by 4 points or more , riding great and getting some nice horses like normal, should sh&t it in this year bar susp or injury that is
  • dungydungy    9,278 posts
He will walk in for the simple fact his 3 winners yesterday would have all been Willams rides if he was staying who is HK bound .
This is the time to keep backing the Pont now when he gets a sniff he goes in for the kill thats when he is at his best.
  • dungydungy    9,278 posts
