This race was upgraded to Group 3 status in 2005 when Ellicorsam won it.

I will wait for nominations before giving any thoughts.

HISTORY

Interestingly in the last 7 years the shortest priced winner started at $7 so its been a curse race for favorites. Also barriers appear not to be a problem with several winners coming from wide in 8,9,10,11 which is a bit unusual for a 1200m race.

    There has been money for So Secret which must be respected but I think the Danetime entire is a bit under the odds first up. Charlie Beau may possibly continue to drift given its recent poor behaviour and the fact it hasn't won for some time. However it is the horse to beat.

    At odds I dont mind a speculator around the Ruabon Stakes form of Stormed Out and Innovation. Looks a very competitive race.

    never mind the barge poll, how about pr.com's article on j hill whose things have turned out "pair-shape" for recently !??!?!??!?!??!

    Not only did I spell barge pole wrong - I also got the gear change wrong - bar shoes come off - Midtime earlier in the day has them on.

    Note to self : dont make posts after a couple of quiet friday arvo drinks
