Jumped before he was pushed maybe?
Clarke as Captain is laughable.....he should be dropped as well.
Footy only a month and a half away!!
I got told is a 4-6 week injury, another blow and you risk losing the finger! After 2 weeks I still couldn't hold a bat properly.
So now Ashes r lost they have erred on the side of caution.
Surely Beer in for Harris is a logical thing. Be interesting to see if Hilfy holds his spot.....
Pity the will debut Khawaja at 3. How many players do that?
Katich's spot is safe
Was not near the radio
we scored close to 500 at the gabba first test! (drawn match)
245 in the 2nd test in SA (england win by 71 runs)
nearly 300 posted at the waca first innings (smashed them by 267 in that match)
then all out for less than 100 on boxing day (then went on to be beaten by 157)
PS. johnno and hilfey batting like they're in a 20/20, 16 off the last 3 balls, keep em coming boys :D
Beer will have to take 10 on debut I reckon...
Hughes
Marsh S
Kawaja
Watson
Cosgrove
Ferguson
Paine
Siddle
Pattinson
Beer
George
Now Im not a big fan of Hughes but dropping him then picking him all the time is no good, either select him and leave him, or put a line through his name for good...
Watson may learn to take his time a little more in the middle, runs already on the board will settle him a little more...
Cosgrove, a lot will bag this, but his weight aside, he is an extremely talented cricketer, give him the opportunity with certain restrictions Im sure he will become more like Lehmann every day...
Paine is a better keeper and better batsman the Haddin fullstop...
A few young bowlers to learn their craft....
Select a young Captian like SA did with Graeme Smith... Let the team grow together, be prepared for a few loses...
and Cosgrove has no chance - imagine him playing a 5 day match
Maddinson will be the next young player in
George is another who is no good
Profile An opening batsman, Nic Maddinson was part of the New South Wales Under-19 side that won the Australian Under-19 championships in December 2009. Two months earlier, he topped the batting averages in the home series against Sri Lanka Under-19s, when he averaged 72 and scored a brilliant 133 not out at a run a ball. Maddinson, a keen rugby union and rugby league player in his younger days, scored 85 runs in Australia's successful 2010 Under-19 World Cup campaign. During the offseason he was handed a rookie contract with New South Wales.
2010
First Class - averaging 52 including 2 centuries
maddinson looks really good
meant to be the saviour of WA and if anything have gone worse
whats he doing with Pomersbach - the guy is playing like a hack
If they are as good as he says then the coach must be shitsenhausen because they are the worst state team
Marsh doesn't have the technique to open in the longer form of the game.
But yet it's better than Hughes' ever will be
They should not pick him (Hughes) again, unless he dramatically overhauls how he picks his bat up and his initial movement (with his feet)
I wanna know who you are, you keep talking technique, if you're that much of an expert get down the waca and apply for batting coach! How many first class hundreds did you make?
As for Maddinson will be a star get him in now as well and he is an opener.
As for the WA batting coach position, i'm not really interested in my salary dropping by 80%
I'm just saying Shaun Marsh wouldn't be a good choice as a test opener. As you have aluded to, he would be better suited down the order.
Gilly and M.Waugh opened in one-dayers for Aust, but did that make them test openers?
I see that Kallis has just equalled Ponting on 2nd most test centuries - and in less tests
with the match the way it is at the moment ive taken the 3.70 on offer for the draw.
As for this test, reckon the poms want to lead by over 100, this pitch will be up and down come the last day, M.Clarke made the right call to bat we may have come up 100 short but the match is still right in the balance, think there will be a result but.
