CountryCaller .........will he be at Koji ?????? All the best to the club and supporters......rumour has it this will be the final year of racing for Wandekla....certainly be sad if this is true. A great day out at a unique setting.
Yes rumours are close to the mark on Wandecla. It will be a club decision, as the Kojonup Polo & Polocrosse run the meeting and they have to have a full running rail in place I believe by next year, which will impact on the Polo ground they use for the other 364 days of the year. Spoke to the Secretary the other night, and she said if the rail can be removed (in the straight only I think) it wouldn't be such a problem but they do not have the manpower etc to do this every year. Nothing is concrete yet, and hopefully they can be talked around. Having two races meetings spitting distance away at Bunbury and Narrogin does not help their cause to get nominations up
And yes it is a uniquie meeting as Diva says, and if you have never been to Wandecla, you have missed out on a real picnic day at the races.

Long time since I been there. Can't remember that much grass. I can see the plot of ground at the 200m post that I "bought" many moons ago though. (Cost me a broken arm heh! heh!) Good ol red tape and bureaucracy kills another race club. After all these years they suddenly need a running rail. Hear RWWA has Gascoyne Junction in their sights as well. No proper running rail.... no meeting.
Just thought I would check the pr.com site. No news of any racing at all on Australia Day-- no previews, interviews, articles. Three big meetings tomorrow but not a single word on the site. Useless.

PR is Perth Racing, and I think its run by the club? It only covers Belmont and Ascot, so they have no obligation to promote the country races. They do, but it's not as much (or as regular) as their own.

Why have Perth Racing got a "Country Expert" then in Julio Santarelli ? Who by the way I have never seen at a country track. Pr.com give much more space to Overseas & Eastern States racing than WA provincial/country. They take the odd article fom Grassroots Racing I see & the aforementioned. The clubs sites are usually not updated very often. Go to Grassrootsracingwa.com for Australia Day stuff.

I think Julio Santarelli works for RWWA, not PR? Confusing huh!
They take the odd article fom Grassroots Racing I see & the aforementioned - which means Julio Santarelli. But he don't pump out too many. Have a look. The last country article on there was on the Mungrup Sprint from the other site.

Unsure what has happened there. It may be that PR posting the Country clubs articles, the country club site's were losing traffic (income)? Alas, not too many articles supplied to PR unless PR writes them. And back to the original point, "why would they"?
Still have not made up my mind Narrogin or Kojonup today >> :?

Kojonup ??
He used to sign his Sunday times articles that way
http://www.perthnow.com.au/news/julio-santarellis-tips-for-ascot-saturday-october-24/story-fn43rwdr-1225790581678. Not now though?
So PR can take stories off Julio, because he puts them out there for the "media" to use.
