  • Yep Gilt Patten ridden was ridden by Gary Willetts in the All Aged Stakes 1975 & carried 57kg beating Leilani with Skyjack 3rd.  He was a fabulous horse and I don't remember him being very big either for an entire!  I am sure McCarthy rode him i…
  • Didn’t Camer get suspended and couldn’t ride GP in a big race & McCarty ride him and didn’t ride such a good race & he came about 6th. I could be wrong but vaguely remember something like that. You all may know more?
  • Bill Camer rode him in the Liverpool City Cup
  • Gilt Patten won the Liverpool City Cup, March,1975 & the All Aged Stakes, April 1975 that I can remember.
  • I was in Sydney when Gilt Patten won a race but I cannot remember which one it was.  I was also at the races when he ran out of a place.  1975 I think it was.
  • Spinking, it was a yellow orangie type of colour I think.  I am intrigued now.  It is just that I was so sure it was him!!  Great if you can do some follow up as now I am curious!   Are you related the falcon?  I am now curious Black Type!
  • Spinking, I have to tell you that after your comment when you said that can't be Hugh Jamieson, I asked a couple of people who knew him and two said not him and one said yes!  The two who said no said where are his binoculars and that he would not b…
  • You sound like you know him Spinking - or worked for him - calling him Mr. Jamieson?  I assure you that is him!  I agree, Hugh Jamieson never usually attended a race meeting without a suit and hat but that may have been when he was not training for …

  • Black type there is no way that  the bloke with the brown jumper no hat is Hughie jameson. For a start H.Jameson would have never attended a city meeting without  a suit on. And if that fella stood up straight he would be to tall to be Mr Jameson
  • No, he is the fella with the brown shirt/cardigan, no hat
  • If that is Hughie Jameson he is the bloke in between the fella with the white shirt and the bloke with the brown shirt. Falcon I reckon it would be mid seventies to late seventies
  • Hugh Jamieson is without a hat and in the brown cardigan.  Don't think he was training at that stage maybe?  I believe he had a brain aneurysm while in the UK.  He did return to successfully training racehorses again though.  Could it have been 1979?
  • Does anyone remember an incident with Tom Pike & JJ Miller having a fight during a race?  Gilt JJ rode Gilt Patten & don't know what Tom Pike was on.   I remember seeing a photo taken from the back of the race and they were fighting. Maybe a…
  • I can see horse trainer Hugh Jamieson on the fence near Detonator’s head. 2nd from left racebook in hand. What year would that have been?
