I still believe he is a special talent, but he obviously needs to improve his game and while we are looking to rebuild I think we should give him a fair chance to prove himself at this level.
We need a total rebuild, the time for bandaid selections are well and truly gone and is starting to hurt us going forward.
If there was a test next week and all players were fit and healthy I would go with
Watson
Katich
Khawaja
Clarke (but on his last chance soon or Ponting)
Hussey
Ponting (or an all-rounder like Steve Smith)
Haddin
Johnson
Hauritz (sadly still our best spinner)
Siddle
Hilfenhaus (also on last chance)
Ponting, Clarke, Hauritz and Hilfenhaus would all be in the firing line for sacking tho if they had another bad series
Katich
Hughes
Watson
Khawaja
Clarke
Hussey
Haddin
plus 4 crap bowlers
he is the new steve waugh
We have been poor, no doubt, but much of that is because England have poured on so much pressure.
The team and many of the players are suffering major confidence issues which is not good for a cricketer, hopefully a few of them can get some confidence back against the lesser teams and that will have a flow on effect.
re: Hughes
He is just playing so late at everything, reminds me of Watson 18 months ago.
I still think time in the Aussie camp will improve Hughes and there ain't many better candidates piling the pressure on.
Also cant believe Hughes did so well against Steyn and Morkel sure they would like another crack at him Morkel looks to be getting better all the time.
getting on the draw at 22
will trade back when it hits $3.50 :P
moved the trade back up to $7 :P
first side since NZ in 1958 to lost 3 tests in a series by more than an innings :P :P
Do they reduce the playing time and number of overs to be bowled today for the extra half hour played yesterday?
An important factor if you are trying to get an arbitrage on the draw.
nence why the minimum overs were only 88 instead of previous days which were approx 96
if the team feels they can bowl out the batting team then they can ask for a extra half hours play. they have that chance again today too should they need it i think.
play finishes at 5pm or 88 overs
unless you want to get out and back england at $1.01
I should have made my trade at $16 after getting $44 - oh well
