Q for darrah, who was the last Kojonup Maiden winner to win in town? Or has there been one?

Co Striker on 9/5/01 after winning on debut at Kojonup in a maiden on 26/1/01. He also won the Kojonup Cup at his final start (start number 79) making it 5 wins at the track (includin 3 cups).
I don't know of any since.

    Outstanding work Rodent.

I hope there is some connection with the horse, family, backed it a few times etc, otherwise that information is taking up good space in your head that should be used for something else.

I knew of the horse but couldn't remember its name. I googled Kojonup Cup and I saw the name Carpenter. I knew that's who trained it so I stuck his name in CRIS and the rest was easy.

Started $7 in a 4 horse maiden in at Kojonup.
I dare say that the jock wasn't able to ride to instruction that day. Probably a bit stong for her in her first race ride for 3 years.

The horse was about 10 lengths conservative best horse in the race. You conveniently left out the fact she has TWO rides in 2008 that was the sum of her career ! She also went leading jockey that day at Kojonup. Rock Of Solitude was'nt too strong at the end of a hot day. Not a little bit of bitcheeness here is there ?

I wholeheartedly agree that it has atleast 10 lengths on the rest of the field.

Hence my surprise that it started at $7!

The owners were not on course, is it a punting stable ? And what instruction could you give a rider against 3 fairly average horses ?

Punting stable or not, they got $1750 in stakes when they could have got $7,000 for a maiden at pinj.

I know most owners would want try and get the bigger maiden win if they knew their horse had the ability.

These owners must have thought that this difference would be inconsequential by the end of it its career. Congratulations to them, they look like they are going to be correct.
